Companies provide their employees with a health budget that allows them to choose exactly the health services they need – for example, the assumption of costs for visual aids, dental treatments, dentures, alternative practitioner treatments, naturopathy or medication, remedies and aids,” says the insurance expert. For a premium of around ten euros per month and employee, a health budget of 300 euros per year is available.
The bKV offers added value for employees that they can experience immediately. At the same time, there is the potential to reduce absenteeism. In addition to the health budget, there is often the option of accessing a medical consultation via video call at short notice if needed. If the service recipients have minor complaints, they can discuss their problem with doctors in a video consultation. “The doctors can, for example, prescribe medication for a cold or ear infection. The medication can then be reimbursed later from the company health insurance budget,” says Marc Hauck.
Another advantage is preferential appointment allocation with specialists. “The employer also benefits from this because, for example, in the event of an injury, the employee receives a diagnosis and treatment more quickly and is therefore able to return to work sooner because they have received an appointment faster,” says the health insurance expert. Ultimately, the bKV can help to make employees more motivated and satisfied, as they feel valued by the additional benefits. Contributions to the bKV are tax-free and exempt from social security contributions up to the non-monetary remuneration limit of €50. In addition, contributions to the bKV are tax deductible as business expenses.
