Detmold. The Ecclesia Group acquired Pension Solutions Group, a leading brokerage firm specializing in the implementation and communication of corporate pension solutions, on July 27, 2020. The acquisition will enable the largest German insurance broker for companies and institutions to strengthen its pension provision business in a targeted manner, offering existing and new customers even better services and further growth in this business area in the future.

“The aim of the strategic merger with Pension Solutions Group is to become the largest and most service-oriented pension broker for corporate clients in German-speaking countries when it comes to company pension solutions,” says Jochen Körner, CEO of the Ecclesia Group. ”With this transaction, we are further expanding our expertise with a strong team. In the future, we will be able to offer existing and new customers even better occupational pension solutions, particularly in the logistics and industrial sectors.”

The Pension Solutions Group is not an unknown partner for the Ecclesia Group. Both companies have been successfully cooperating for more than ten years. “We focus primarily on the implementation of employer- or mixed-funded pension plans,” explains Frank Buschmann, Managing Director of Ecclesia Vorsorgemanagement GmbH. “The Pension Solutions Group, on the other hand, specializes in the area of deferred compensation and individual advice for employees. This is an ideal addition to our range of services.” This is because the pension needs of employees of Ecclesia customers are increasing. Solutions are needed to close gaps in provision for retirement, disability or illness as efficiently as possible.

The merger also has clear advantages for the Pension Solutions Group. In order to be able to react adequately to increasing customer requirements, technical and process expertise as well as a strong team are necessary. “With the Ecclesia Group, we have a strong partner at our side and will thus be able to master the current and future challenges of the brokerage market. For us, the quality of the encounter and a passion for company pension schemes play a central role,” says Tobias Bailer, Managing Director of the Pension Solutions Group. ”In addition to the continuous expansion of our successful cooperation partner model, which we will continue to pursue in the future, we see access to the Ecclesia Group's client companies as the greatest synergistic advantage. This will enable us to provide even better solutions to our existing network as well as to new clients.” It was also important for all parties involved that the respective locations of both companies be retained.

“We want to establish Ecclesia and Pension Solutions Group as a brand and synonym for occupational pensions in Germany,” says Marc Sontowski, Managing Director of Pension Solutions Group, describing the goal. “I am convinced that we will succeed in doing so together, as we are driving forward topics such as hybrid personal consultations, digital consulting routes, customer-centered behavior of all employees and data-supported consulting processes in all areas of company pension provision and will lead them to process excellence.”

For more than 20 years, Pension Solutions Group has specialized in the configuration, implementation and administration of occupational retirement and disability insurance as well as company health insurance. The goal is to seamlessly integrate pension solutions that suit the customer into their corporate structure and to strengthen the employer brand with individual employee benefit concepts. The company consistently relies on digital services and hybrid consulting. Tobias Bailer and Marc Sontowski will share responsibility for the pension provision area at the Ecclesia Group with Frank Buschmann.
