Ecclesia Netherlands acquires majority stake in Dutch specialist broker BS&F
Detmold/Doom – The Ecclesia Group, through its subsidiary Ecclesia Holding the Netherlands B.V., has acquired a majority interest in Zwolle-based BS&F Holding B.V., thereby successfully continuing its growth course. The market-leading specialty broker for municipalities in the Netherlands offers customized insurance products and services for low-income citizens via its innovative IT platform.
“With this acquisition, we are securing a leading position in the Netherlands in a specialized market segment,” explains Jochen Körner, CEO of the Ecclesia Group, the reasons for the investment. ”In addition, we are bringing further expertise into our group of companies and can expand our service portfolio in a targeted manner.”
BS&F's IT platform enables municipalities to offer their low-income citizens insurance products such as health insurance or services such as the “City Pass”. The entire application process for health insurance is fully automated and handled by the platform. With the “City Pass”, residents can go shopping or receive discounts on certain activities, with the entire process and administration also being handled by the IT platform. This significantly reduces the administrative burden on municipalities.
The merger also opens up opportunities for BS&F, according to managing director Marije Gravemaker: “In recent years, we have consistently expanded our service portfolio for municipalities with new services to improve the living standards of needy citizens. The Ecclesia Group is a strong partner with whom we can continue to pursue this goal in the future.” BS&F will continue to operate independently under the umbrella of the Ecclesia Group, managed by the current management team, so nothing will change for customers.
