KlinikRente Versorgungswerk, founded in 2002, offers healthcare employees the best options for company pension schemes and for securing their income in the event of company insolvency. More than 130,000 employees have now chosen KlinikRente as their way of providing for their financial future. For more than two decades, the pension fund has demonstrated a high degree of stability and, compared to the market, a very good rate of return. In 2024, interest rates are now rising for the second year in a row.

Interest rates rise again in 2024, employees continue to focus on promising investments

After the increase in the total interest rate in the security assets of the pension solutions for the year 2023, interest rates will rise again in 2024. The financial strength of the sponsoring companies is reflected, among other things, in the total interest rate on the guarantee assets, which for 2024 is 3.40% for direct insurance and 3.45% for the provident fund. This is a good signal for the member companies and their employees. However, employees continue to focus more and more on the capital market-related solutions offered by KlinikRente. That is why KlinikRente offers opportunity-oriented products in all implementation options. These combine the attractive interest rate in the security assets with the potential returns from funds. Hubertus Mund, managing director of KlinikRente, comments: “The company pension plan through KlinikRente combines the advantages of state funding with employer subsidies and attractive returns. This is how retirement planning remains affordable.”

Company pension plan remains an essential benefit in the competition for talent

The bottleneck in the “shortage of skilled workers” continues to intensify. A reversal of this trend is not in sight. Employers are forced to present themselves in the best possible light to potential employees. In the perception of employees, company pension provision is a key component in this. “In addition to mixed-financed company pension provision with above-average employer contributions, there was also increased demand in 2023 for purely employer-financed pension arrangements. KlinikRente was also able to win tenders from public institutions.” Furthermore, the pension fund further optimized its offers for company income security last year. Access for employees was simplified. In 2023, a total of more than 400 companies chose KlinikRente. This increased the number of member companies to around 6,000.

Income protection remains a key focus of pension provision

Private income protection (EKS) in the form of occupational disability insurance and protection of basic abilities has been an integral part of the KlinikRente portfolio for nine years. The focus is not only on employees in health care professions, but on all employees in the health care sector. The decisive factor is not the occupation, but the industry. Family members can also be covered. A total of 35,652 people now use the private income protection of KlinikRente.

KlinikRente successful in new shareholder structure

Ecclesia has been a shareholder of the pension fund since mid-2023. With more than 2,700 employees and a premium volume of 3 billion euros p. a., the Ecclesia Group is the largest German insurance broker for companies and institutions. This provides KlinikRente with significantly expanded resources for the steadily increasing future requirements in product development, digitalization and other areas.

The first few months have already shown that the new opportunities can be used in the interest of the companies, their employees and also the brokers. KlinikRente continues to rely on close partnerships with the sponsoring companies and on good relations with industry associations and trade unions. This is done in close cooperation with the numerous KlinikRente partners who support the individual companies.

HR Congress 2024 to start again

The extremely successful hospitals' personnel congress has ended its four-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic and will resume in November 2024. The 16th personnel congress will take place in Cologne over two days. Traditionally, the congress addresses the currently very challenging topics in human resources work. In Cologne, too, congress participants can look forward to an exciting program with plenty of opportunities for networking.
