Personnel Congress of Hospitals
Personnel managers from the healthcare industry discuss current challenges
The 16th Hospital Personnel Congress will take place on November 18 and 19 at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne. Experts and employees of the management and personnel departments of hospitals, rehabilitation and care facilities will discuss current and future challenges, such as the shortage of skilled workers, enormous cost pressure, insolvencies and the requirements of the hospital reform.
“The industry is doubly affected by the shortage of skilled workers in particular. In the coming years, the shortage of nursing staff will increase enormously,” says Hubertus Mund, organizer of the 16th Hospital Personnel Congress and managing director of the KlinikRente Versorgungswerk, in which the Ecclesia Group is a shareholder. In addition, the healthcare industry has to contend with a high level of staff turnover and many sick days compared to others. The consequences of demographic change are also being felt. The average age is growing and more and more employees are retiring.
These issues are particularly challenging for HR departments and present them with new challenges. “Successful human resources management is increasingly becoming a factor for survival,” reports Hubertus Mund. In order to meet these requirements and find solutions, the pension fund KlinikRente has launched the hospitals' personnel congress in cooperation with the German Hospital Federation. This has now become a traditional meeting place for hospital and clinic personnel managers. “What makes it special, in contrast to other congresses, is that we have a limited number of participants. We want to promote personal exchange between the main decision-makers in hospitals, rehabilitation and care facilities over the two days of the congress,” says Hubertus Mund.
In their lectures, renowned speakers present best-practice examples with ideas for their daily work in human resources management in the healthcare industry. The topics are diverse: they include human resource management in the context of staffing levels and changing conditions, wage developments and the increasing shortage of skilled workers, but also current labor law. The congress also offers the opportunity for effective networking and knowledge sharing with other participants, sponsors, partners and speakers.
