Valuable impetus for a successful future
Our daily business revolves around protecting our customers' assets and managing and hedging risks. To this end, we bring our customers together with the appropriate insurers and their insurance products. Regular personal exchanges with risk carriers are therefore of great value to the Ecclesia Group. To intensify these exchanges and take them to a new level, we launched the “Ecclesia Marketplace” series of events this year. This event format brings our employees together with risk carriers/insurers to discuss current and future challenges and to discuss and explore solutions and concepts.
Insurers are among the Ecclesia Group's most important sparring partners when it comes to achieving the best insurance solutions for our customers. This process requires not only a deep understanding of the market, but also the ability to identify and respond to trends such as ESG at an early stage. An open dialog between both parties makes it possible to discuss challenges and problems, reflect on them together and ultimately develop individual, customized insurance solutions.
The different perspectives of insurers and brokers on the same risks and challenges provide a valuable basis for discussing various solutions. This diversity of perspectives helps to find the best solution for all parties involved, but especially for our customers. At the Ecclesia marketplace, experts from the insurance industry have the opportunity for this important exchange. Short presentations and stimulating discussion rounds at the beginning of the event provide valuable impetus and promote dialogue.
The second part of the Ecclesia marketplace focuses on networking. At the subsequent evening event, participants can engage in conversation on a personal level. These personal encounters are essential for building trust and strengthening sustainable relationships. The informal setting allows participants to get to know each other better and lay the foundation for future collaborations. This also creates an atmosphere of shared learning and development that benefits everyone involved.
Marketplaces 2024: insights and retrospectives
The individual marketplaces 2024 are divided into four thematic forums:
1. Transport Forum in Berlin:
Solving ESG challenges
The Ecclesia marketplace event series kicked off in Berlin with a focus on transport insurance. Industry experts with practical experience, including underwriters and other representatives of our insurance partners, as well as employees of the Ecclesia Group, exchanged ideas. For example, about ESG challenges in temperature-controlled goods and the influences of the geopolitical situation on the transport industry. The solution approaches discussed and insights gained will also sustainably benefit the product developments of insurers and brokers.
2nd Property and TV Forum: Innovative approaches for property insurance
In Bielefeld, the focus was on current topics in property and technical insurance. Around 150 experts from the insurance industry discussed challenges and trends in this area. Sustainability and climate protection were also in focus. Speakers such as expert Annemarie Büttner from Swiss Re provided good insights into the effects of climate risks on companies and insurance companies. The presentations served as a source of inspiration for new solutions and were discussed further in personal conversations in the evening.
3rd Liability Forum:
Trends and developments in liability insurance
In Duisburg, around 130 experts met to exchange ideas on developments in the field of liability insurance. For example, the importance of risk engineering in the area of storage risks and the upcoming EU regulation of PFAS chemicals were discussed. Marcel Wilms from Gothaer discussed the insurability of these “forever chemicals” from the perspective of brokers and insurers with our experts. The topic of insolvency risks and how to handle them in the insurance context was also discussed. Both perspectives were reconciled during the subsequent networking session.
4. Financial Lines and Cyber Forum:
Focus on management risks
The Ecclesia marketplace in Cologne focused on trends and challenges in the area of financial lines and cyber. Daniel Messmer from Swiss Re spoke about the increasing ESG, cyber and geopolitical risks that management faces. The Ecclesia experts talked about their experiences in these areas and explained how companies can avoid financial losses. Dirk Koch, a certified ethical hacker (an expert in the security of computer systems), spoke about the importance of a rapid response to cyber attacks and gave valuable tips for the event of a claim.
A format with a future
The series of events impressively showed that networks can be strengthened, know-how exchanged and practical challenges overcome by regular events and forums on specific topics. The success story of the Ecclesia marketplace is therefore to be continued.
