The success story of the collaboration between Holsing-Vital and the Ecclesia Group

Since 2016, the Ecclesia Group has been providing Holsing-Vital with detailed advice and comprehensive support when it comes to sustainable insurance and the best insurance products for the specialist clinic and its employees. Key Account Manager Nils-Christian Schmidt and his colleagues have been direct contacts for Managing Director Jens F. Holsing and his team for more than eight years. With great success, as joint projects and events show. In this editorial interview, the head of the clinic and the Ecclesia employee talk about the success story of the rehabilitation clinic and the insurance broker.

“The chemistry was right straight away, there was a great deal of trust in each other from the very first conversation and it has only grown over the years,” explains Jens F. Holsing. “Both sides still benefit from our excellent relationship today.” Especially during the “dramatic coronavirus period”, the collaboration “absolutely paid off”. “Due to the coronavirus, we were forced to close our clinic completely from one day to the next at the end of March 2020,” says Jens F. Holsing. “Of course, something like this is an existential threat for any company. Fortunately, we received quick and unbureaucratic support from the Ecclesia Group. They immediately gave us specific tips on what we needed to consider from an insurance and legal perspective. That helped us a lot and ultimately saved our existence. We suffered economic damage in the high six-figure euro range due to the coronavirus. Because our insurance broker arranged very good cover for us and the claim amount was transferred within a relatively short time, we can now continue our success story of more than 300 years.”

We want to further improve our quality and always be at the cutting edge of technology. To ensure that everything remains well secured, we will continue our long-term cooperation with the Ecclesia Group, which focuses on our customers' needs.

Financial help as quickly as possible through business closure insurance

Nils-Christian Schmidt can still remember the “dramatic situation” four years ago in spring: “The Holsing-Vital clinic was directly affected by a coronavirus outbreak at the time. Both staff and patients were ill. As a result, the responsible health authority imposed an admission ban on the entire clinic.” Due to the outbreak and the official order, the insurer did not question the insurance cover for this claim. “Resilience was and remains a decisive success factor in the success story of Holsing-Vital and the Ecclesia Group, and Mr Holsing and we benefited in the middle of the first lockdown from the fact that we reviewed and optimized all existing insurance contracts in detail at the beginning of our collaboration eight years ago. This meant that the sudden closure of the business was fully covered,” explains the Ecclesia employee. “The business closure insurance was the basis for the fastest possible claims settlement and financial assistance. Thanks to the contractual terms negotiated with the responsible insurer, we were able to fully settle the claim reported to us at the beginning of April 2020 as early as mid-October of the same year.” To this day, customer and broker discuss all important contract modalities intensively and at an early stage - always with the aim of assessing the risk in the best possible way and finding suitable insurance measures and solutions.

Confidence for the future through cooperation with the Ecclesia Group

“We want to further improve our quality and always be at the cutting edge of technology. To ensure that everything remains well secured, we will continue our long-term collaboration with the Ecclesia Group, which focuses on our customers' needs.” Jens F. Holsing is confident that there will be very good demand and capacity utilization for his clinic over the next five years and beyond. “Of course, very large and well-funded groups are entering the medical rehabilitation market. They have very different financial resources to us. But I am certain that we will continue to play an important role with our quality and performance. The Ecclesia Group, with its expertise, is a strong partner at our side to help us achieve this.”

Resilience, good advice and short-term solutions

Due to the cost-intensive investments and the high value of the buildings and infrastructure, it is important for the clinic director to have a competent and reliable partner like Ecclesia at his side. “Resilience is particularly important in today's world. As a customer, I feel very well advised and can contact them at any time, for example if I have any questions or need a short-term solution in the event of a claim. That is the key to success. Because help is provided quickly and reliably. Sometimes in the form of an initial phone call. This is absolutely professional and helps us directly. That's great,” explains the entrepreneur. New insurance solutions remain important, existing ones need to be optimized. This is where the insurance experts continuously help Holsing-Vital plan for the future.

Benefits from public liability and cyber insurance

“When it comes to our vehicles, our IT and liability claims, we are very well insured through our insurance broker. The best possible protection is also absolutely essential when it comes to cyber security. Having such products in our portfolio is essential for our clinic. This has already paid off in one case when we had to deal with ransomware and were able to prevent major damage thanks to rapid action and Ecclesia's expertise.” In this case, the company benefited from the Ecclesia Group's large network and its cyber experts. In addition to the cyber insurance, the business liability insurance has already been used. “In an accident with a laundry trolley, a patient was injured much more seriously than initially assumed. This could have had serious consequences for us. The damage, which was in the lower six-figure range, was fully covered by the relevant insurance company. Here, too, the process ran absolutely quickly and smoothly,” praises the Managing Director. “Mr. Schmidt clarified everything directly with the insurer, as usual. This again saved us a lot of time and money and gave us a good, secure feeling. This was also very important to us, especially in terms of the patient concerned and her financial compensation.”

Resilience was and remains a decisive factor in the success story of Holsing-Vital and the Ecclesia Group.

Modern family business with extensive expertise

Holsing-Vital has its finger on the pulse of the times. Follow-up treatments (AHB), i.e. rehabilitation measures directly after operations, for example on a knee or hip, have been part of the orthopaedics department's expertise for more than 30 years. In 2007, the climatic health resort Bad Holzhausen was renamed Heilbad Holzhausen. At that time, the clinic expanded its health programs and health services for patients with health insurance and private payers. Since 2011, behavioral orthopedics has been an additional indication. The main focus here is on typical patient stresses that manifest themselves in the form of orthopaedic illnesses. “We offer our guests high-quality services in the areas of rehabilitation, prevention, fitness and wellness - all under one roof,” says Managing Director Jens. F. Holsing. Ecclesia employee Nils-Christian Schmidt appreciates “the family company's commitment to its employees. They are motivated, encouraged and trained in a targeted manner”. Another special feature fits in perfectly with the topic of sustainability. “Holsing-Vital uses a wood chip heating system to generate heat for its buildings,” explains Nils-Christian Schmidt. Jens F. Holsing: “We deliberately don't heat our hotel with oil or gas, but with wood. This goes down very well with our guests and fits in perfectly with our philosophy and corporate culture. This is also made possible by high-quality insurance cover.”
